Chaetia, the fleets newest and youngest current captain, sat with a cup of green tea and tried to unwind and calm herself. The admiral had just promised her command of the new ship, the Goshawk, if she could only gather up a crew from the currently unassigned personel and new graduates. She had contacted several already, and any who were interested should be gathering here, in the office she had been loaned before long....

((oh my bad. Didnt read the first post all the way through. Im deleting that one and starting over lol))

Raven walked into the office of her friend, Chaetia, who was to be the Captain of the new ship, Goshawk. Chaetia had asked Raven to be part of the crew of the ship, and Raven had happily agreed. This would be a once in a lifetime oppurtunity and Raven wasn't going to let it slip by. She saw Chaetia sitting in a chair with a cup in her hand, "Hello Chaetia...or should I say Captain."

"Either works, or both, First officer Raven" chaetia said with a grin, standing to greet her best friend from the academy. she gestured to an okudagram of the Goshawk on the wall "what do you think?" the contrast between the two women was striking.

Raven looked at the okudagram of the ship, "It looks great Captain" Raven couldn't wait to get on the ship, unfortunately they would have to wait for the other members to join them. "When do you think we'll be able to board her?" she asked Chaetia.

"probably in a week or so, though she won't be ready for launch until about three weeks from now" she answered with contained excitement. she turned, gesturing raven to a chair before sitting back down with her tea.

"hopefully within the next half hour or so. " she said sipping her tea calmly. what she did'nt say was that she was uncertain if anyone else would show... her ship was not the only one under construction nd one of the others was an enourmous galaxy class. none the less, she thought that some of the younger officers would choose to serve in a higher rank on her vessel rather than a lower one on the more prestigious galaxy class.

"well, i'm certain you heard about the decommissioning of the old sovrign class Regal several years ago, right? I was the cheif engineer on the ship when the plasma intercooler malfunctioned, at that point, i knew we were in trouble. we had to completely shut down the warp core and contain the plasma coolant, a nerveracking buisness that. thankfully, we were very close to starbase 59, and from there the ship was decomissioned and the faulty systems were examined. turns out it was sabatoged by a Romulan disruptor beam, but the saboture has never been identified"

"Yeah. Sometimes I wish I was back at the academy. Everything seemed much simpler. But then again, the reason we study at the academy is to do things like this. Sometimes I feel that theres a lot that I still need to learn though"

*laughs* "Well, I know I don't know everything. I don't think anyone...no matter how smart they are, really knows everything. But it doesn't hurt to try though. I just hope a I'm smart enough to be a part of the crew on this ship"
